Hananoiwaya

"Hana no iwaya" is the gigantic rock and is referred to in the oldest Japanese history book as the tomb and shrine of goddess, "Izanami no Mikoto (伊弉冊尊)", who created the country. People have worshiped her and they have a festival twice a year without cessation; praying for a good harvest on the 2nd of February, and giving thanks on the 2nd of October. "Hana no iwaya" means flower rock in Japanese and it was named after the custom where people would carry seasonal flowers when they went to pray there. Hana no iwaya quietly stands towards Pacific Ocean and remains as a faithful force of nature.
