Nanairo Dam

This arch gravity dam was built in 1965 across Kamikawa town in Kumano city of Mie prefecture, which is famous for the highest quality black stones for Igo chess, and Kitayama village in Wakayama prefecture.
Pure water, poured from sacred Kumano mountains, reflects colors of new leaves and cherry blossoms in Spring as if a picture.
The stream flows down to the famous Dorokyo Gorge.
