Ohmata River
The beautiful Ohmata river runs through Kumano city starting in the eastern mountains and ending into Nanairo Dam in the west. Many of the locals love the river as the best playground in summer.The deep mountains of Kumano make a beautiful, cold and clear stream all around the year, and its scenery turns into gorgeous green world especially in the early summer with fresh green of rice paddies on the both sides and worm sunshine makes the stream emerald green color. The rocky river provides many natural pools and shallow places for both kids and adults. The river is one of the favorite places among the people who like river fishing, too.
